I am Director of the Center for Social Science Scholarship, Professor in the Language, Literacy, and Culture Program, and Affiliate Professor in the Gender, Women's + Sexuality Studies Program at UMBC. My research connects issues of education, region, language, class, race/ethnicity, and gender in the U.S.
